The members of the Liberty Discussion Group sat down at Graduate Coach, on the 1st July 2017 to discuss on the topic “Role of Government in Providing Education Services”

As we know “Education is everyone’s right”. It is also human rights of each individual living in a society. While discussing about the role of government in providing education services. We came across a problem that government seems to be serious regarding the quality of education, and is not willing to make any compromises on the quality front but still lacks in providing access to education to its citizen. Due to illiteracy and poverty the parents are still reluctant to send their kids for classes since they would rather prefer their kids to work than study.

In rural areas still there are kids who didn’t have a school to attend in the vicinity, which gave them no scope of getting educated. Also some argued that although private schools are trying to fulfill the gap many private schools don’t operate in the rural parts. So, it serious problem. It is time the government starts thinking along the line of increasing the efficiency and quality of these public schools by taking strategic decisions to deliver better results. Under discussion some participant debated the mechanism of education system of the country. Current model of education should be changed. Skilled and value based education should be implemented. They will become potential of the society which would benefit both the individual and the society.
